What is Erasmus+ Program?

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s program to support education, training, youth, and sport in Europe. The program offers exchange possibilities for students from various countries and institutions. Erasmus+ aims to encourage higher education institutions to cooperate with each other and implement joint projects. It provides free financial support for short-term student and personnel exchange. In addition, it encourages the increase of relations and cooperation between higher education institutions and working environments to develop the higher education system in accordance with the needs of the business world and to increase the employability of university graduates in the business world. The aim of the program is also to improve the quality of higher education in Europe and to strengthen its European dimension.

  • Erasmus+ is not a foreign language learning program.
  • Erasmus+ is not a scholarship program. 
  • Erasmus+ is not a diploma program. 
  • Erasmus+ is not a research program. 

How to participate in Erasmus+?

To participate in the Erasmus+ program, the university you study at should have a bilateral agreement with the university abroad you wish to study at. Therefore, students who want to study abroad as Erasmus-students should first contact their university's international relations office and request information about the institutions they are able to do an exchange at.

What is Free Mover Program? 

Students who receive associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate education at universities abroad are allowed to study at ALKU as guest students by paying a semester/annual fee for a semester or an academic year. Similarly, students who receive associate, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral education at our university are allowed to attend universities abroad.

What is Mevlana Program? 

Mevlana Exchange Program aims to enable exchange for students and academic staff between both Turkish and foreign higher education institutions. Mevlana Exchange Program includes all higher education institutions in the world regardless of their region.

FAQ - Foreign Students

I am a foreign student and want to apply to a study program at ALKU. What do I do?

All the information you need about the prerequisites and application process can be found on our International Students page. When applying to ALKU, we recommend participating in the ALKÜ-YÖS exam to increase your chances to be accepted to ALKU.

What is ALKU-YÖS?

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Foreign Student Examination (ALKU-YÖS) is a multiple-choice test created to measure basic learning skills. Basic Learning Skills Test consists of 80 questions regarding General Learning Ability, Mathematics, and Geometry. Placement is based on Basic Learning Skills Test results only. The exam duration is 120 minutes. 

Who Can Apply to ALKU-YÖS?

All candidates can apply to the exam, provided that they are in the last year or have graduated from a secondary education institution whose equivalence has been approved by the authorities of the Republic of Turkey.
